1929 - The first issue of Syr Boyi Newspaper of Kyzylorda region, is published.
1958 - Connecting Kazakhstan with Siberia, the Urals, the Volga region, Kyrgyzstan, and Central Asia, the Kazakh Railway is established.
1989 - The first issue of Almaty Aqshamy, a daily newspaper, comes off the press.
1993 - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev in Almaty takes part in the ceremony of signing the Protocol of Intent for the Karachaganak Field Industrial Development by representatives of the government of the country, as well as executive directors of British Gas and Agip.
- The Joint Communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State of Qatar s signed.
- The grand opening of the Republican Foundation named after Turar Ryskulov, a prominent party and government leader.
1994 - The Mausoleum of Kazakh batyr (hero) Raiymbek (1705-1785) is unveiled in Almaty.
- As a flight engineer, Kazakh cosmonaut Talgat Mussabayev starts his space mission, which lasts 126 days. He takes two spacewalks totaling 11.07 minutes.
1996 - The Cadet Corps of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan opens its doors in Shchuchinsk. In 2000, it is named after Shokan Valikhanov.
1998 - The Republic of Kazakhstan Law "On the special status of the city of Almaty" is adopted.
2013 - Kazsport (now Qazsport), the country's first government-owned sports channel, starts operating.
2018 - For the first time, Kazakhstan celebrates the National Day of Dombra.
