The Alash Party leaders convened the Kazakh Congress at the Koyandy Fair near Karkaraly town in 1905. The delegates adopted the petition with the following demands: putting an end to the resettlement of peasants, establishing a separate spiritual administration for the Kazakhs, introducing official proceedings in the Kazakh language and more.
In 2007, «People's Hero» National Award was established in Kazakhstan. This neither state, nor political award is presented for the highest achievements in serving the society, the people of Kazakhstan.
The Embassy of the Republic of Estonia opened doors in Astana In 2011. Margus Solenson was appointed as Chargé d'Affaires of Estonia. The Estonian Embassy monitors the political and economic relations with Kazakhstan and provides consular services to Kazakhstanis and permanent residents of Kazakhstan.
In 2013, Kazakhstani boxer and Olympic champion Serik Sapiyev was awarded the UNESCO Champion for Sport title in recognition of his exceptional sport achievements, making him the 13th athlete in the world to receive the title.
Promising pianists from North Kazakhstan region Angelina Onishchenko and Violetta Kromina won big at the international festival in Salzburg, Austria in 2014.
«Assar’ recreation and retreat center for people with special needs was officially unveiled on the shore of Lake Alakol in Almaty region in 2016.
Young Kazakhstani boxers clinched ten gold medals at the 34th Golden Glove of Vojvodina international tournament in Serbia the same say. Team Kazakhstan ranked first in the overall standing.
On the same day, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Federative Republic of Brazil signed a visa-free agreement. Now, citizens of the two countries are free to stay in the both countries for 30 days without visa issuance.
Grade 11 student Amir Mohammed-Ali from Pavlodar won gold medal at the International Mathematics Olympiad in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil in 2017. The event brought together some 600 schoolchildren from 100 countries of the world.
