1930 - Karlag (Karaganda Corrective Labor Camp) is set up following the decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR.

1992 – Kazakhstan and Finland exchange notes establishing diplomatic relations.

2002 – Kazakhstan joins the Nuclear Suppliers Group.

2011 – The works by Kazakhstani painter and film artist Nurlan Abishev are acknowledged as the best at the Spring in full color art competition in New York.

2013 – Kazakhstan’s new 5,000 tenge banknote wins IBNS Banknote of the Year 2012.

2014 – The solemn opening of the Days of Culture of Kazakhstan in Indonesia is held at the Taman Ismail Marzuki hall, Jakarta.

2014 – Astana native Nurmagambet Nurpeisov invents the new type of concrete with ice filler. Such concrete type called Nurais allows for constructing buildings as tall as a kilometer and is to revolutionize construction.

2016 – The first Judo Academy is opened in Almaty city.

2017 – The Information Center of China’s State-owned Agency Xinhua holds the campaign familiazrising passengers with the nature and culture of the countries of the «One Belt – One Road» project in the metro.
